Encinitas Dental Art Welcomes Dr. Christopher Henninger to the Practice

Encinitas Dental Art adds dentist Christopher Henninger, D.M.D. to the staff. After 26 years serving the North County area, Dr. Edward Coffey adds Dr. Henninger in his mission to continue to provide the most up-to-date dental care to the residents of Encinitas and the surrounding area.

Encinitas Dental Art welcomes highly recruited dentist, Christopher Henninger, D.M.D., to its staff. Dr. Henninger has extensive expertise in surgical placement and restoration of dental implants, dental anesthesia and cosmetic dentistry and a proven track record of serving his community as well as his patients.

While in dental school, Dr. Henninger was awarded a scholarship from the United States Navy. As a part of this scholarship, he agreed to serve as a Dental Officer for three years in the Navy. During dental school, Dr. Henninger became very involved in short-term dental missions, which inspired him to travel to over 12 countries on mission trips to provide dental services to underserved populations. Also, he was one of the founding members of Dental Community Fellowship, a dental organization designed to mentor dental students to use their skills for greater good.

After completing dental school, Dr. Henninger was commissioned into the Navy Dental Corps as a Lieutenant at Officer Indoctrination School in Newport, Rhode Island. He completed a one-year residency in General Dentistry at the Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital in Oceanside, California. This residency was heavily concentrated in oral surgery, endodontics, and hospital dentistry. After residency, Dr. Henninger was assigned to the USS Boxer (LHD 4) home ported in San Diego, CA. While on Boxer, he was responsible for maintaining dental readiness for over 1,200 sailors, as well as 3,000 marines, while deployed. Dr. Henninger deployed in 2008 as a part of Mission Continuing Promise to Guatemala, El Salvador, and Peru and then in 2009 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Dr. Henninger had the opportunity to serve his country and play an integral role in the USS Boxer ‘s mission to rescue the MV Maersk Alabama from Somali pirates.

Joining Encinitas Dental Art

After serving for four years in the U.S. Navy, Dr. Henninger joins Encinitas Dental Art with a wealth of dental experience in cosmetic and implant dentistry. He is an active participant in the community and is committed to maintaining up-to-date knowledge in the latest dental procedures and the latest dental technology. He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, San Diego Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, as well as the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Henninger lives in Carlsbad with his wife Camille, who is a dermatologist at the Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital.
